Hazel is a superb host and provided us with a very varied itinerary including walks, visits to... read more monasteries, wine tastings, riding the narrow gauge railway to Avramovo and an afternoon at a spa pool. Everything was really well organised and was great value for the money we paid. Hazel found us the Hotel Grami when the previous establishment had not so good reviews which on the whole was up to expectations. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the owners and staff at the hotel were really friendly and we enjoyed their new outdoor pool. We would not hesitate to recommend these tours to any walking group.

All the walks & trips was based on the the Groups levals of walking abilities, The Hotel was amazing & all the transfers was spot on. I can VERY VERY Highly recommend Hazel if you are organising a Group or even if you are a couple in the area & wanting to walk or see the sights.

We spent the week in the... read more Bansko area (the lovely town centre was within walking distance of the hotel) and the countryside & mountains were extensive & beautiful. Hazel and Ian, our walking holiday leaders were wonderful, very professional, considerate and personable - they were able to accommodate everyone’s needs. They took us somewhere beautiful, interesting & different everyday. Everyone was catered for, even those not walking. Our accommodation, Hotel Valentina Heights was wonderful. The staff were the best. Our room was a mini one bed apartment with kitchen & balcony with amazing mountain views, the hotel had a pool with jacuzzi & sauna which was very welcome after a long day walking. The breakfast, packed lunch, afternoon tea, coffee and cake and dinner with bottomless local wine (very tasty) was always great & ensured we never went hungry. One evening the hotel made us an amazing curry buffet which was so delicious. Hazel and Ian, as well as taking us on wonderful walks they also made sure we experienced the real Bulgaria by including such things as trips to sites of local interest, meals in a typical Bulgaria restaurant/mountain BBQ, a post walk pint in a Bulgarian bar and info about where to get the best local ice cream. It was a great week with a perfect balance of activity and relaxation in a beautiful location. I can’t recommend Hazel, Ian and Bulgaria Walking Tours highly enough.
